Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 2026-06-23
This Privacy Policy describes how 成都渔知致远教育有限公司 (“we”, “us”, or “the Operator”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use EduFish (“the App” or “the Service”). The App is an education analytics platform that helps teachers, students, and parents track learning progress, engagement, and performance.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account and Profile Data
When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. Your account is assigned a role — Student, Teacher (admin), Parent, or Super-Teacher — which determines what data you can access. You may optionally set a display name. Authentication is provided by the Base44 platform; if social or third-party login is enabled, the provider you choose processes your login credentials.
1.2 Student and Education Records
For students, we store and process education records including: first and last name, grade level, school name, parent/guardian email, assigned teacher, test scores and benchmark results (including MAP/RIT scores, lexile ranges, and performance levels), assignments and submissions (including submitted text and uploaded files), session notes and learning objectives, engagement metrics (attendance, participation, focus, energy, confidence, readiness, and homework tracking), gamified learning activity (runs, encounters, XP, levels, and streaks), and teacher-written report summaries.
1.3 Parent–Student and Teacher–Student Links
Parents request to link to a student’s account; the link becomes active only after approval. We store the relationship type (e.g., mother, father, guardian) and the approval status. Teachers are linked to students either by direct assignment or through an approved link request. These relationships control which records each role can view.
1.4 Messages and Notifications
The App supports direct messaging between parents and teachers, including subject lines, message text, and full conversation threads. We also generate in-app notifications (e.g., new assignments, feedback, link requests) addressed to your user account.
1.5 Uploaded Files and Audio
Teachers, students, and parents may upload files such as assignment attachments, submission documents, test score reports, and learning materials. Teachers may also record and upload audio feedback, and students may choose to record a speaking-practice response. Uploaded files are stored in private storage and accessed only through short-lived, authorized links; they are not publicly accessible.
1.6 AI-Assisted Transcription and Formative Feedback
When a student submits an open-ended response, we may process the response text, prompt, rubric, and, for speaking practice, the selected audio recording to create a transcript and provisional formative feedback. The result may include rubric scores, strengths, and a suggested next step. This automated result is a first review rather than a final academic decision. Low-confidence results and speaking responses may be sent to the student’s linked teacher for confirmation or correction.
1.7 Usage and Security Logs
We collect limited analytics events (e.g., feature usage) to improve the App. The platform may also maintain security and access logs necessary to operate and protect the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and role-based access.
- To store, display, and analyze student education records and progress.
- To facilitate parent–teacher communication and notifications.
- To deliver uploaded learning materials, assignments, and audio feedback.
- To transcribe student-initiated speaking practice and provide provisional formative feedback.
- To generate analytics and improve the App’s features and reliability.
- To detect, prevent, and address security, fraud, and abuse issues.
3. Service Providers and Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help operate the App:
- Base44 — provides hosting, authentication, database storage, file storage, and backend infrastructure. Your data is processed and stored on Base44’s servers.
- Authentication providers — if social or third-party login (e.g., Google) is enabled, that provider processes your login credentials according to its own privacy policy.
- AI processing providers — process only the prompt, response, rubric context, and optional student-initiated recording needed for transcription and provisional feedback. Private recordings are provided through short-lived authorized links rather than permanent public URLs.
We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the App, our users, or others.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account and education records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account through the in-app account deletion feature; we will process personal data removal in accordance with that feature. Some shared education records (e.g., class-level data, messages involving other users) may be retained or anonymized as necessary. Platform-level data may be retained for a limited period after deletion for recovery and security purposes.
5. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including role-based access controls, private file storage with authorized access links, and server-side authorization checks. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children’s and Student Privacy
The App is designed for use by students, their parents/guardians, and teachers. Student education records are accessible only to the student, their linked parent/guardian, their linked teacher, and authorized administrators. Parents or guardians must authorize a student’s use of the App and may request access to or deletion of their child’s data. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental or school authorization. We have not asserted certification or formal compliance with COPPA, FERPA, GDPR, or any other specific privacy regulation; the Operator is responsible for determining and meeting applicable legal obligations.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Parents and guardians may exercise these rights on behalf of their linked children. To exercise these rights, use the in-app account settings or contact us using the information below.
8. International Access
The App and its infrastructure may be accessed from various countries. If you access the App from outside 中国, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
